Being neat, orderly and meticulous about how things work and look like seems to be a good trait. However in some cases, this attitude of being a perfectionist is already considered as a disorder. The term for such condition is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Ever find yourself counting your steps, spraying disinfectants on door knobs before touching them or very conscious about how your move your body? These are mild signs of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and it could get worse if you don’t try to manage it.

Studies show that past personal experiences such as accidents or fear can cause OCD. Even nutrition deficiencies may also contribute to OCD and other disorders related to behavior. There are no medicines for treating this disorder and the only proven way to treat OCD is through behavior therapy. Though this disorder is often neglected, this could affect the daily activities or even harm the person who has it. OCD can go from mild to something really bad and seeking the advice of a psychiatrist is recommended.
